Alsace-Lorraine, 1942: Young Lou and his older brother are burying landmines in the forest when they are caught off guard by two German soldiers. Something connects all four of them, but before they can uncover what it is, the fighting has already begun.
The short film "Die letzte Mine" ("The Last Mine") tells the brutal fate of young people growing up in wartime, and gives an impression of what it means to “show strength” and “fight for one’s country”.
The cast features Caspar Gierden Collieux, Matt Posada, Lion Wasczyk, and Alix Heyblom. It was directed by Henry Marx and Maximilian Wiege, the screenplay was written by them together with Beata Wyzgol. The cinematographer was Flemming Kruck, the original score composer Peter C. The historical production design was created by Alice Jamin, the costume design by Nico Schmitt, the elaborate special effects makeup was crafted by Melek Cimen together with Anna and Dominik Scheitinger. The film was shot in the summer of 2024 in Cologne and Konz, and produced by Atris Film.
