Behemoth overruns Ursleben

Model maker Urs (Nikolai Radke) has received an exciting assignment: He is to make a "great" model of a city for a film production.

But when he arrives on the film set, opinions about what "great" means differ widely. Now he has to defend his model against all the weird birds. These include the grim actor Ingo (Markus Angenvorth), the cocky director Jürgen (Marc Urwer) and the hypothermic producer Marzia (Katrin Krüsel). And there's an even bigger threat coming for his masterpiece: a bad-tempered sock monster!

The 27-minute short film "Ungetüm überrennt Ursleben" was produced by Marc Urwer and Atris Film in 2021. The idea of the film came from Marc Urwer, the screenplay was written by Alexander Daus.

Filming finally took place in Weitersburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, in September 2021. Nikolai Radke played the lead role, with Céline de Gennaro, Markus Angevorth, Marc Urwer, Kartin Krüsel, Timo Ben Schöfer and Anna Kniel taking on supporting roles. The film was directed by Maximilian Wiege and co-directed by Lisanne Leuders and Marc Urwer.

The model

A special feature of the film was the 2 x 1.2 meter miniature model, which the Koblenz Model Club made for the production. The model of the village "Ursleben" is in the finished film with its richness of detail the pride of the model builder Urs. Harmonious sounds of a village can be heard as we dive into the model world: Birds chirping, children playing, cows mooing. In Urs's "real world" all this is missing.
